Within the Herts & Beds Counselling Foundation, there are 5 counselling centres within Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire and we are a charitable organisation whose ethos is to offer affordable open ended counselling to our local communities. We also offer time limited sessions at competitive rates. Our counsellors are either in training for their counselling diploma, qualified to a minimum diploma level or in further training to advanced diploma level. We also have counsellors who are BACP accredited. We are a BACP accredited centre for both counselling and training. and a member organisation of WPF Therapy.
We work with clients on a wide range of issues, offering an assessment session and then allocating to the best counsellor within the Centre to help you with your worries or concerns.
We can help with depression, anxiety, bereavement, loss, coping with an illness or disability, eating problems, stress, work related issues such as redundancy; relationship problems and many more issues besides.
Our organisation was founded in the mid 1970's and we have centres in Bedford, Broxbourne, Stevenage, Luton and St Albans. We can also see clients in Welwyn Garden City, Dacorum, and Dunstable. We offer individual time limited counselling for 6-8 sessions to adults over 18 or open ended sessions so that you have as long as it takes to explore the issues that are troubling you.
We also offer counselling training to those wishing to become counsellors. We provide an Introduction to Counselling, a Certificate in Counselling, a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. We offer a Certificate & Diploma in Supervision, a course on CBT and CPD workshops throughout the year.Qualifications & Training We are a BACP Accredited organisation. Our counsellors have either started their training and are studying with us on their Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, are qualified to a minimum Diploma level, in further training for their Advanced Diploma or are a BACP accredited counsellor.Fees Assessments are from £40 although concessions are available for those who feel that this is too much. For on-going sessions we ask clients to contribute as much as they feel able to and fees start from £10. We provide a guideline according to income and fees are negotiated with your on-going counsellor. However our ethos is to help as many clients as we can so if you feel concerned please ring the centre to talk this through with our administrator.
