I am a Professional Member and a Training Analyst and Training Supervisor with the Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy (AGIP) which is a UKCP member organisation. I am also a Full Member of the British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision.
In my practice I work long and short term with individuals and couples. The sorts of issues that occur in my work include: relationships, depression, bereavement, sexual abuse, anxiety, self awareness, post traumatic stress, personal development, identity, sexual orientation, and sexual problems. I also offer supervision to other counsellors and psychotherapists.
As might be apparent, I work psychoanalytically believing that it is most often unconscious conflict that is cause of our difficulties: the work then is to try to bring this unconscious conflict into awareness in the belief that this might reduce any symptoms.
I am a Senior Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Brighton.
