More than ever people are recognising the need to explore difficult feelings with a professional therapist. Often the stresses of modern life and the conflicting demands made of us can begin to feel unbearable. Acknowledging that there is a problem or difficulty can be a very hard thing to do. For many people, coming to the decision to ask for help is not easy.
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, grounded in an understanding of early attachment relationships and how these connect with peoples present difficulties. Where appropriate I also use the techniques of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).Qualifications & Training I achieved a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Anthropology at Goldsmith College, London University, in 1980. After five years training at the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology at Regents College, London, I was awarded a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling. I achieved an MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling in January 2009.Experience I have many years of experience working as a psychotherapist and counsellor with the NHS, private practice and various counselling agencies. I've worked for: South London & Maudsley NHS Trust, Munro Centre - Guy's Hospital, Ealing Abbey Counselling Service and Battersea Pastoral Centre. Recently I have been providing counselling within Bristols NHS Primary Trust, Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) and Gwent NHS.Fees The fee for a fifty minute session is £35.00. Some reduced session fees are occasionally available for those on low incomes or on benefits.
