As a fully qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, I offer a constructive, grounded approach to individuals and couples in a safe and confidential environment. My aim is to help you explore and gain clarity on aspects of your life and to resolve problems which are troubling you.
I work with people on a wide range of issues, including: anxiety, depression, confidence and self-esteem, anger, stress, addictions, bereavement, relationship issues, sexual issues, sexuality & identity.
People also come to counselling with problems that are more difficult to define - a sense of confusion about their lives and about who they are, a lack of direction, a loss of meaning or joy in living, difficulties in relating to others or in sustaining good relationships.
Making contact: if you are interested in making an initial appointment or if you have any questions about the service I offer, you can email me or phone. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
The first meeting is an opportunity to talk over the issues and for you to decide if you would like to work with me. It does not commit you to anything further and I will usually suggest that you take a couple of days to think it over.
I normally contract for a fixed number of sessions at first, typically between four and six. This allows us a reasonable period of time to see if the process is helpful to you. We review progress on the last session and, if required, may decide to continue for a longer period.
