Gestalt means whole or pattern. It is a form of therapy that insists we pay attention not just to the issue in front of us but the context within which it is placed. This means taking a holistic approach in which all aspects of the person (mental, physical, spiritual) and their situation (cultural, social, political) are taken into account.
Gestalt therapy focuses on what is happening right here, right now, in order to understand how the whole of a person functions in this moment. In this way, we come to see exactly how our problems work. We can then use this knowledge to bring about positive change.Qualifications & Training I am currently trained to postgraduate diploma (PG Dip) level, and am working towards UKCP Registration through the MA in Gestalt Psychotherapy at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute.Experience I have experience of supporting people through a variety of issues, including: bereavement, depression, anxiety and panic attacks, addiction, assertiveness, traumatic memories, psychosomatic symptoms.Fees £30 for a 50 minute session. My preference is to work on a weekly, on-going basis. However, if you want more than one session a week, or a pre-set number of sessions, we can discuss this and tailor a course of therapy to your needs.
