As a therapist I aim to understand how you experience life from your unique perspective and I pay attention to what really matters to you. I believe in the importance of creating a non-judgemental and confidential environment for exploring your significant relationships, emotions and thoughts. I assume that people have many competencies and abilities that will help them to move forward.
In some cases I work individually and in others with couples and families, as bringing people together in a safe and supportive ambience can help to improve communication and reach a better understanding of each other's views and needs.
As part of my experience I have helped couples in situations like communication difficulties, affairs, intimacy, separation & divorce, life changes to do with work, loss, physical illness and mental health issues.
I have helped families with step-family adjustments, cultural differences, life changes, and parenting support for emotional and behavioural concerns with children and adolescents.
I have also helped individuals with relationship issues, low self esteem, bereavement, anxiety and stress, career and work-related issues.
Sometimes people come to see me when they are really upset and in emotional distress but others come to address problems at an early stage or in a preventative way.
An initial meeting will allow us to make decisions about our work together; and we will be able to discuss whether the service I offer is suitable for you and your concerns.
I provide both short term and open-ended therapy depending on your needs. I do offer evenings and daytime appointments.
Please feel free to contact me by e-mail or telephone for any enquiry or questions that you might have. If I am not available, leave a message and I will contact you as soon as I can.Qualifications & Training MSc. in Systemic Psychotherapy.
