I am presently 43 years old (June 08), and I work from the Humanistic model (Person Centred), meaning that I work with what the client brings to the session in the 'here and now', rather than attempting to interpret the client's meaning through analysis of the individuals childhood development. This means that via the principles of positive regard, warmth and caring in a safe & confidential and genuine atmosphere the client and i will unravel and explore whatever issues that client wishes to clarify. This can mean different things for different people, so in some cases this may mean trying to gain understanding of a complicated situation, change an undesireable attitude or behaviour, overcome depression, come to terms with a loss or simply get support through a difficult time in the person's life.
When it comes to finding the right counsellor for you I would strongly recommend phoning a few therapists for an informal chat and then arranging an assesment session (at no cost to yourself), where you can gauge whether the therapist is suitable for your specific needs.
If you are interested in finding out more about the way I work, cost, venue or asking any questions you may have, please don't hesitate to contact me to have a private and confidential chat about any queries or concerns you may have concerning the counselling process.
Kind regards.
