I have been a qualified counsellor for nine years. As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), I adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice and Professional Conduct in Counselling; and I am subject to their disciplinary procedure. In addition, I am a member of both the International Society for Mental Health Online (ISMHO) and the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO) and have completed specialised training in counselling online with Kate Anthony MSc, author of the BACP Guidelines for Online Counselling and Psychotherapy. The counselling I provide is covered by Professional Liability Insurance and is subject to UK Law. I trade under the name of Email Therapy UK.
Offline, I am a full-time counsellor & CBT therapist in a drug and alcohol treatment agency on Merseyside. In addition to being a counsellor, I am also an accredited community mediator with UkMediation. Over the last five years I have helped with conflict resolution in neighbourhoods across Cheshire and Merseyside.
My approach in the counselling relationship is integrative. This means that I integrate theories and practice from two types of therapy. One is Person-Centred and the other is Cognitive Behavioural. I work with individuals and couples and aim to offer a supportive space, whether online or face-to-face, for you to explore your issues and discover a way to move forward. To find out more about how I work and my fees (I operate a sliding scale), please visit my website or email me directly with no obligation. |
