Having worked as a counsellor within a national mental health charity in Staffordshire for over 10 years my vast experience has covered such issues as abuse, anger, anxiety, autism, bereavement, bullying & being bullied, confidence, depression, grief, loss, marital problems, parenting, relationship, self-esteem, sexual abuse and stress.

Whilst my initial training is in the Person-Centred approach I continue to undertake further training which enables me to be flexible within my approach to clients needs and issues. I can offer strategies and suggestions to help empower the client. However, ultimately it is down to the client to put into and take from the sessions what they need or feel able to use.

I listen empathically to what the client is saying and am fully active within sessions.

There are certain restrictions regarding confidentiality which will be explained at the outset.

I offer sessions weekdays: 10.00am, 11.15am, 12.30pm, 2.00pm, 3.15pm, 4.30pm, 6.00pm & 7.15pm.

I have an information pack available on request.

    Experience
Since 1985 I have worked with children and families within private, statutory, educational, charitable, NHS and now independent settings.

I began working as a counsellor at North Staffs Mind in Hanley Staffordshire on placement. Once qualified I became a volunteer. In time I was offered a variety of short-term contracts and then a full time permanent contract. Initially working on the Adult Team and then on the Young People's Team. Mind sponsored my training in Triple P the Positive Parenting Programme.

I have worked from an independent centre in Sandbach, Cheshire since 2001, where I offer counselling to adults, couples, young people plus parenting support or the full Triple P Programme.

I receive work through a number of Employer Assisted Programmes.

I am now semi-retired working solely on an independent basis.
