Nessa Muller is a qualified psychotherapist working in private practice in Dublin City-Centre. She provides individual psychotherapy for adults and is experienced in working with a wide range of emotional issues such as anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, bereavement & loss, low self-esteem, eating disorders, negative body image, parenting difficulties (child and adolescent behaviour difficulties), fostering & adoption, marital problems, and emotional difficulties post trauma.
Adoption
Nessa is experienced in working with issues related to adoption, both domestic adoption and inter-country adoption, and provides information for adoptive parents as well as individual psychotherapy for adult adoptees.
Nessa's primary aim is to ensure a safe and strictly confidential environment for all her clients enabling them to explore, recognise and express difficult & distressing feelings, thoughts, memories and anxieties. Clinical Supervision
Nessa also provides clinical supervision for professionals engaged in client related work such as: social workers, social care workers, key workers, counsellors, youth workers, psychotherapists, child care workers, and so forth.Qualifications & Training Her training includes a Masters degree in Clinical Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Dublin Business School. The two year full-time programme included, academic seminars, infant observation, and clinical placements in adult psychiatry and south inner-city primary schools. Training placements (3-6 months) were at the Mater Misercordiae Hospital, Our Ladies Hospital (Navan), the Maternity Hospital at Holles Street, the Mountown Neighbourhood Youth Project and St. Audoens National School.
More recent training was completed in Systemic Family Psychotherapy (one year certificate, Mater Misercordiae University Hospital, 2007) and at the training workshop on sexual abuse (Rape Crisis Centre, 2006). This year Nessa has completed a further Higher Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy (DBS, 2008 - 2010) and a one year certificate in Addiction Studies, (NUI Maynooth, 2010). She is continuing her professional development with a two year MSc in Clinical Supervision at Trinity College.
Besides her clinical work in private practice Nessa also is involved in managing & supervising clinical placements for students of the Masters Degree in Clinical Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (DBS). Nessa has been a member of The Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland since 2004.Experience Nessa has worked in private practice for over 4 years and engaged in professional training for 10 years.Fees Individual psychotherapy : 60 Euro per session (sliding scale).
