My clients describe all sorts of problems in their lives. Some cannot say what it is that troubles them but have come to identify repeating patterns that are injurious to themselves or to those around them. They have a wish to break from thought or behaviour that disrupts their lives and often robs them of the capacity to feel joy.
I work by psychoanalytic technique which is the only method to explore the unconscious emotional conflict which keeps their suffering in place. This therapy embraces the whole of an individuals emotional life. Because of this therapy can be lengthy. However relief from suffering is not dependent on the resolution of all of ones internal conflicts and quite often life for a client improves shortly after they have begun the work of analysis.
With those clients who conduct their sessions by phone I like where ever it is possible to have regular face to face meetings. This helps cement the therapeutic relationship and gives the client a stronger sense of reality in therapy. I am able to meet clients in Dublin or Kerry where I live.Qualifications & Training I have a general degree in psychology and a masters degree awarded by Trinity College Dublin in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
I am a member of the British Psychological Society and the Irish Forum for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.Experience I have worked as a therapist since 2002.Fees Normally I charge 50 Euro per session but for some clients depending on their circumstances I can charge less.
