Hazel understands how difficult it can be to keep appointments to attend agencies or consulting rooms when you are under stress and life is not behaving itself. Having to visit a strange place and sit in a public waiting room can be the final insult when you are falling apart inside. Instead, imagine how reassuring it would be to have the professional come to see you at home, so that you could discuss your issues in the security of your own front room, surrounded by the familiar comforts. This alternative service is especially beneficial for clients suffering with agoraphobia, or people with a physical disability.

The Person-Centred approach operates on the principle that the client is the expert on his or her own life. It offers a method of enabling the helped person to realise the inner potential that will allow her to discover the solutions to her difficulties from within the resources of her own personality. In consequence, the therapist does not volunteer her own answers, does not give advice or direction, and will not pretend to know what's best for the client. Her task is to assist the helped person to take authority over her emotions, her decisions and ultimately her own future. The personhood of the client is at the centre of the therapy and the goal is to empower each one to take control over her life in the way that is uniquely appropriate for her.

Fees
A home visit for assessment will cost the client just £37. This fee includes a small charge for the cost of the counsellor's journey and the time spent traveling. If the client decides at the end of this session to proceed with the therapy, ongoing sessions of 60-90 minutes may be booked in blocks of two or four. Sessions booked in blocks of four are charged at the reduced rate of £32 per session. Sessions cancelled by the client are payable at the counsellor s discretion, although any session cancelled by the counsellor will not be payable. Payment is made in advance, as the sessions are booked following assessment. Cheque or cash are both acceptable.

Hazel is able to offer therapy delivered to your door at this low rate because the system of home visiting enables her to save money on overheads.
