At One Giant Step I offer a free one hour introductory session that looks at what you are looking to change in your life. From this open discussion together we look at the options and the best therapy to suit. One possibility is Hypnosis here I have tried to dispell any myths surrounding this medium:
Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state of mind. In fact, everyone is in a state of hypnosis many times during their lives.
About 85% of the population can, if they wish, achieve a state of hypnosis, but they cannot be hypnotised. Hypnosis is a natural state which occurs in the mind of the subject, all the hypnotist does is to teach you how to achieve that state. In other words all hypnosis is really self-hypnosis. Just as you need a teacher to help you to swim, so you need a hypnotherapist to teach you to achieve hypnosis.
Thoughts filter from the conscious mind into the subconscious mind and affect the body positively or negatively, depending upon the types of messages received. Hypnosis is a tool that can demonstrate the effect the mind has on the body. It can show how ideas formed by a person can affect the body positively or negatively. Hypnosis can be used to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts.
Hypnosis can seek out inappropriate imprints on the mind and change them to ones that are more positive and beneficial to the client. Those who suffer from nerves or anxiety can become confident and positive; addictive personalities can be helped to overcome their addictions; smokers become non-smokers; those who lack motivation and purpose find new meaning, new ambitions and goals.
There are many problems such as anxiety, stress, tension, fear of water, dentists, dogs, wasps etc for which there is no effective medicine or pills. Tranquillisers do not cure, they merely cover. But there is something you can do about it.
