I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on a number of different counselling theories & approaches. This makes it easier to be flexible and work in a way that suits individual clients. The counselling process is a collaborative process and we will work together at finding the right track for you.
At the very centre of the service I offer is the therapeutic relationship, which is based on trust, confidentiality, equality and honesty. I am a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I abide by their code of practice.
I offer both short term and open ended therapy.
I believe in looking at what is 'right' rather than what is 'wrong' with clients and believe firmly that each individual has the resources and capacity within to seek and achieve change and healing.Qualifications & Training I hold a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Studies and CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Skills.
I attend regular training events & workshops to enhance my practice and continually seek to further my knowledge and skills.Experience I have experience of working with young people (16-18 year olds) in a college setting.
I have worked for a local counselling agency since 2008, which offers a generic open-ended therapy.
And since 2009 I have worked as a Mental Health Advisor in the local surgeries in Hart offering short term counselling & CBT and guided self-help.
My background is in general nursing. I have been an RGN for 20+ years and I am currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.Fees £38 per session.
