Often clients ask "Can you help?" or "Why is this happening to me?" I start with an initial session which is an opportunity to discuss what has brought the client to counselling. This is a time to get to know what my client would like to get from counselling and how I may be able to help. Sometimes clients come for a short time and sometimes a long time, this is their choice and can be discussed. The sessions are usually weekly and for one hour. I am an accredited counsellor which means I have exceeded 450 hours and fulfilled the accreditation process from the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I continue to attend further training and am particularly interested in how to explore the potential which we all have, whatever our circumstances or our experience. As examples, I work with: stress and anxiety depression low self esteem past trauma and loss relationship issues I also supervise other counsellors as part of our mandatory requirement from the BACP. Introduction to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Skills (CBT) 2008. Experience Since 1997 I have continually worked with clients both in private practice and with young people in a school setting. I also supervise other counsellors and have been a tutor on a diploma course. My supervision experience includes group or individual supervision. Fees Clients £40 per hour. Supervisees £40 per hour. I have availability for reduced rates.
