In my experience as a psychotherapist & counsellor in private practice, I have worked with a wide range of people, with a broad range of problems that include abuse, addiction, depression, bereavement, anxiety, relationship issues, stress, self-harm and concerns about work & life balance.

I believe that it is important to create a respectful relationship with my clients. This means that we will work together in a confidential, non-judgemental space that enables you to express whatever is troubling you. From my experience, this way of working at your own pace, can help you to face issues which can lead to positive changes in your life.

Fundamental to my practice is my view of people that is characterised by an accepting, respectful attitude. This helps to create a safe, secure space that allows free expression of personal issues and problems.

My work includes :

a) An exploration of how current problems may be connected to past relationships and events.

b) Exploring issues around anxiety. Helping clients to address the causes of their anxiety can improve their quality of life and their potential for change. Kevin Spacey's statement in American Beauty : " it's a great thing when you realise you still have the ability to surprise yourself ", clarifies an engagement with life where change is integral to health.

I have worked with many people who have had a wide range of issues that impair their ability to function effectively in the workplace. This work is both short and long term.

I am a recognised provider of counselling & psychotherapy services for a number of private health insurance companies. Over the last 6 years I have been able to help many people who hold such a policy.

I have provided counselling for people training to be counsellors & psychotherapists. The focus for this work has been their personal issues as well as help with the academic and placement requirements of their course. I have also supervised counselling students for many years.
