The Counselling Approach I use is based on the work of Carl Rogers. It is a non-directive approach and has a firm belief that every human being has the capacity to change, grow and develop, if they so desire. My aim would be to help facilitate change, by offering you a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to talk through any difficulties you may be experiencing, so you can explore your feelings and thoughts, in a way that is best for you.

I have counselled clients from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of issues including: depression, low self esteem, suicidal thoughts, relationship problems, sexual identity, self harm, sexual and physical abuse, bereavement and loss, paranoia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, childhood issues and personal development. I receive regular supervision and identify my own training, self development and counselling (if required) as set out in the BACP guidelines.

For the past 4 years I have facilitated a number of support groups at Stockport Mind which include, a group called 'Respect' for women who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, 'Sexuality' a group for people who identified with being gay, lesbian or bisexual, a self harm group, an anger control group, a beginners and advanced relaxation group, people who identify with having Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and their carers and organised and facilitated women's spirituality personal development weekends.

I currently have my own private practice where I work from my home in Todmorden.

I charge £30 for an hour's individual session. (Individual financial difficulties can be negotiable.)
