People who come for counselling are ordinary people who are experiencing life as being painful. This may be due to problems in a relationship, the loss of a loved one, work related stress, anxiety or perhaps a general sense of unhappiness.
Talking to a trained counsellor is a way of understanding your life and, through this, starting to take responsibility for making different choices.
I aim to bring warmth and sensitivity to my work and I offer a safe and confidential place for you to explore and understand difficult feelings and thoughts. I listen carefully without judging you.
HOW I WORK
Psychosynthesis counselling is a holistic approach that seeks to integrate all parts of the personality.
Psychosynthesis has a deeply affirmative perspective and honours each person on his or her journey towards living life more fully.
Together we would look at aspects of your past in order to understand issues you are facing now. Psychosynthesis is also about uncovering a sense of your purpose in life and, going forward, creating a more meaningful life.
Psychosynthesis offers a way of exploring those aspects of ourselves that are in conflict with each other. It is about a 'coming together', a 'making whole' and looks at the internal blocks that hold us back from living life fully.
MY APPROACH
As a psychosynthesis counsellor my approach involves sensitively exploring issues through dialogue and, where appropriate, working creatively with guided visualisations, drawing, chair work, imagery and dreams. I work in the way that best suits each individual and so my focus is less about techniques and more about the importance of the therapeutic relationship.
My aim is to enable people to gain an expanded awareness of their issues. With awareness comes choice and, with choice, the possibility of doing things differently.Qualifications & Training I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling from The Psychosynthesis and Education Trust, London. This diploma is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and validated by the University of East London.
I am a BACP accredited counsellor (MBACP Accred) and I adhere to the BACPs Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.Experience Low Self-esteem * Anxiety * Depression * Bereavement and loss * Childhood trauma * Relationship difficulties * Intimacy * Personal development * Life crises and choices * Loss of purpose and meaning * Self-realisation.Fees I charge £40 per session in Westerham, near Sevenoaks, Kent.
