I believe that there is a healthy core within us all from which we can make a nourishing contribution. I encourage clients to express their thoughts and feelings, fears and hopes using different art forms. At other times they may need to simply sit and talk and be listened to with empathy and without being judged. My aim is to support them in developing self-awareness and to work on improving their relationship with themselves and others.

Arts psychotherapy offers an opportunity to explore oneself through movement, paint, clay, sandplay, puppets, music, dance and other expressive art forms. Integration means utilising different theoretical models dependent on client needs at any given time. I draw on humanistic and existential values, Gestalt therapy, attachment theory and psychodynamic models as well as Jungian perspectives. I may also work with cognitive tools as appropriate, particularly in relation to trauma.
