If you have issues or problems that have been with you for a long time then perhaps now is the time to take a look at them in a supportive empathic environment. Talking one-to-one can be enormously helpful to give space to problems and issues that have held you back, perhaps for years. Issues that you have not been able to discuss with anyone can be brought out within the counselling session and really looked at in a way that is not possible with family and friends.

My role as a counsellor is to support you in whatever you wish to bring to the session. It might be you feel that you have something but feel it is too trivial and that you have a happy home life with family and friends and it would be too self indulgent. It is possible to come for counselling for a short period of time to work on one or two issues.

You may feel that your problems are to do with your current relationships personal or professional and that a neutral environment may help you to clarify matters for yourself. Here it may be helpful to have ongoing counselling sessions until you feel you are on firmer ground.

Or perhaps you know that your issues go down deep and that long term counselling is needed with a strong therapeutic relationship to help explore heavy emotional states.

Psychosynthesis works very well for short term as well as long term counselling as the client will learn new tools to enable them to look at themselves and to find new and more creative ways in which to approach their difficulties.

I also work with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) which is a highly effective therapy when combined with counselling. Please see www.emofree.com for more information.
