My philosophy is based on the firm belief that it is the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client that heals. I aim to build a strong working bond with each one of my clients. I use an Integrative approach which enables me to draw on a number of therapeutic models according to your needs. The core model underpinning all my work is called Person Centred, as developed by Carl Rogers. My intention is to always offer empathy, understanding, acceptance and authenticity. I am neither directive nor judgmental but I can certainly be challenging.
I hold specialist certificates in Couple Counselling, Person Centred Supervision, Bereavement Counselling, Time Limited Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
I also work in organisations where I specialise in counselling parents and young people, have experience working in Employee Assistance Programmes, and see staff from local schools.
I see couples and individual adults and teenagers from any background who may be experiencing high, medium or low levels of psychological distress.
Some of the problems I work with are:
Depression, Aanxiety, panic attacks, low self esteem.
Addiction to something such as drugs, alcohol, sex or food.
Bereavement or loss.
Redundancy or other work related issues.
Issues in your marriage & relationship - couples or individuals.
Being bullied at work or school.
Family concerns and pressures.
Sexual issues.
Concerns about your health.
Problems with your children. |
