AVENUE PRACTICE
Avenue Psychotherapy and Counselling Practice is run by Simone Lee, a very experienced, qualified, registered and insured practitioner whose principal consulting rooms are in Central London, NW1 & at her office in Finchley/Woodside Park, North London, N12.
APPROACHABLE
At Avenue Practice, we try always to maintain the highest professional & ethical standards to safeguard our work. Therapy is, at the same time, down-to-earth & avoids mystification; we encourage open collaborative conversations in the work.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer confidential existential and integrative therapy (psychotherapy & counselling) to individuals & couples which can be short or long term for a very broad range of presenting issues, problems and dilemmas. Some people seek meetings without specific issues, simply to take stock of their lives.
OTHER SERVICES OFFERED
We also provide other related psychotherapy and psychological services including existential, integrative and cross theory clinical supervision, group work, consultancy, assessment & a referral service across London and nationwide to a network of skilled & experienced practitioners from a variety of disciplines who are all UKCP, BACP or BPS registered.
HOW THE THERAPY IS OFFERED
We offer face-to-face, online (IM), telephone and e-mail therapy and supervision to individuals, couples and groups.
MORE ABOUT THE THERAPY OFFERED AND ISSUES WORKED WITH

lack of confidence, low self esteem, shyness, making friends
loneliness & isolation, meaninglessness
overwhelmed, not coping, anger, anger management
physical, pain & illness related & age related, critical illness, cancer
relationship, friendship, family issues, interfaith issues, divorce
trauma, abuse, rape, post traumatic stress, unwanted thoughts
nightmares, feeling stuck or trapped, repeating patterns
work related: bullying, discrimination, harassment, redundancy
study related: exams, essay writing, coping under pressure, under achieving, feeling stupid and worthless
loss, bereavement, separation & abandonment
addictions, phobias, OCD, bipolar & psychiatric, irrational thoughts & fears
sexuality, sexual/gender identity, coming out, gender reassignment, intersex work
infertility, miscarriage, SIDS, stillbirth, abortion, parenthood, pregnancy & pre-natal & post-natal depression
pet bereavement
crisis of faith, existential crisis, mid-life crisis
homesickness, alienation .... there are, of course, many more.
we are reminded of the huge variety of difficulties human beings can face in their lives.
The situations we find ourselves in and our fears & worries can often be difficult or simply unhelpful to share with people we already know.
The aim of therapy at Avenue Practice is to provide a safe and supportive space for us to look at & explore together the things that matter to you. We shall also take stock and re-evaluate how you live your life and how you engage with the world and the people around you. This might throw light on new possibilities, which may in turn encourage you to live more deeply and with a greater sense of your own agency, even when circumstances do not favour you.Qualifications & Training CertCounsPsych, ExDipCounsPsych, AdExDipPsych, UKCP (reg) ECP(reg) MBACP.Experience Simone Lee says more about herself & the ethos of Avenue Practice:
"My practice in counselling, psychotherapy and related work in this field spans fifteen years. I've enjoyed rigorous training with an emphasis on existential (long-term and time limited) approaches, and have also trained in brief solution focused therapy, groupwork, supervision, focusing, TIR, gestalt, humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. I continue to follow new ideas & thinking to challenge & enliven my practice.
I also train students of existential & integrative psychotherapy & counselling in a number of settings, & both as a teacher & clinical supervisor, I promote my belief in the value and potential benefits of ethical & humane therapy.
I've worked in a variety of settings, with a rich diversity of people from wide ranging backgrounds & I am committed to an inclusive, multi-cultural & multi-ethnic attitude, valuing people from all backgrounds, abilities, religions, faiths & sexual orientations.
While I aim always to maintain the highest professional & ethical standards, my manner is ordinary & approachable & I avoid any mystification of the work I do, encouraging a collaborative and open dialogue"Fees These vary according to the location and the time of day:
