BA MBACP (accred). Many people have problems. Anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or the trials of life may prompt people to come to counselling. Some people may come because of a major event in their life such as a bereavement, others may come because of a general sense of unhappiness or a feeling of being unfulfilled.
Therapy may be helpful to you if you feel you are unable to resolve your problems on your own.
People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons but, typically, they will include:
depression
stress
anxiety
bereavement
difficulties with family and personal relationships
feelings of confusion
eating disorders
coping with change.
Being able to talk about these issues may allow you to examine the causes of distress. It is often only by looking closer at ourselves that we are able to understand our motivations and develop new patterns of behaviour. |
