My counselling work is primarily influenced by the principles of psychosynthesis. Often referred to as a psychology with a soul , psychosynthesis embraces the whole person: mind, body, feelings and spirit. It places emphasis on the fact that each one of us has the wisdom within ourselves to find the answers to our questions.

My role is not to give advice but to help you gain more clarity around the issues you present and become more aware of your choices. Through listening carefully and reflecting back to you what I see, hear and feel, you can begin to reflect on your own thoughts, feelings and experiences on where you come from, who you are, and who you may become.

I offer short-term counselling to address specific issues (minimum six sessions) or medium- to long-term counselling to work in more depth (six sessions and beyond).

I have experience of working with clients on a wide range of issues, including:
Relationship and family problems
Sex and sexuality, coming out
Gender issues
Bereavement and loss
Low self-esteem and lack of confidence
Stress
Coping with change
Coming to terms with illness
Anxiety and depression
Lack of direction or purpose
Problems at work
Overcoming blocks to achieving full potential
Loss of hope and feelings that life s not worth living
Childhood trauma

I treat all clients with acceptance and respect regardless of their age, background, ethnicity, gender, disability or sexual orientation.

I am a full member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and adhere to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice and Professional Conduct Procedure. I am fully insured and use on-going personal and professional development activities and my own personal therapy as ways to deepen my knowledge, self-awareness and ability to self-reflect.

Qualifications & Training
I hold a postgraduate diploma (PGDip) in Psychosynthesis Counselling from the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust.

Experience
I have been working as a counsellor in a range of clinical settings since 2005.
