Working from three different clinics in South London, I work with individuals and couples in private practice. (A package is designed specifically for corporate firms wishing to offer counselling to their employees.)

I regard therapy as a joint endeavour, which aims to help people become free of certain patterns or responses that cause unhappiness. This can sometimes take time - and patience and courage - but those that are dedicated to seeking insight into the nature of their problems will never be disappointed. My approach is Psychodynamic yet I regard theories to be helpful as a guide, being of the belief that the person fits the theory, not that the theory fits the person. Interpretations, therefore, are given based on a client's narrative not arbitarily 'made up' to 'suit' or to 'look clever'. I also believe that every client deserves to be respected for seeking help with problems in their lives; Sessions can be an enjoyable hour to look forward to yet challenging to undertake if not accustomed to such a field; seeking help, however, shows wisdom and courage and for those not used to sharing their problems the process does become easier with practice.

I offer help with all emotional and anxiety related issues, both in long term and short term therapy. I see clients wanting Couples Counselling based on an eight week programme designed to aid personal growth and to develop recognition of how and in what ways one effects, and is effected by the other. Discovering what events has led to certain behaviours frees us, it is hoped, from previous debillitating patterns of involvement and helps us to understand not only ourselves, but also our partners, family, friends and so on.
