I am a trained counsellor and also a part-time tutor of counselling. In private practice, I offer psychosexual and relationship counselling in Brixton, South West London, working with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period. The aim of the work is to enable clients to live their lives more fully and openly with improved relationships and communication skills.

My approach is to work with all aspects of a person’s life in terms of background, family group, culture, and environment, enabling clients to work purposefully at their own pace and with what they choose to share with me. So the client is in charge of the material they bring, and the support I offer is to help them to regain balance in their lives, within a safe, supportive, and confidential therapeutic relationship. I enjoy seeing people become more aware of their choices and opportunities to create healthier relationships.

I am experienced in assisting individuals and couples who have had difficulties with:

  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Sexual problems, abuse, relationships and sexuality
  • Panic attacks
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Loss, separation and bereavement
  • Redundancy
  • Depression
  • Addiction.

    Qualifications & Training
    PG Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling.
Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Counselling.
Accredited Member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Accredited Member of British Association of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (BASRT).
Cert Ed. Ad Ed, tutoring in Counselling, Nonviolent Communication Skills, Parenting Skills, and Personal Development.

    Experience
I started my practice as a counsellor 8 years ago in HMP Brixton, working with prisoners on remand. This was followed by work in a GP surgery in Clapham, a private health clinic, and Kings College Hospital. I am a trained counsellor who has undertaken an additional 2-year training in the physical and psychological issues associated with sexual functioning and communication difficulties. I have also trained extensively in Nonviolent Communication Skills, teaching it in adult education and using as a mediation tool where there is conflict. This could be between parents and children, partners in business or marriage, colleagues, friends, family.
