My main psychotherapeutic interest and way of working is called relational. This expresses my fundamental belief that we all are relational beings. We are born through and in relationships and when all relationships end, we are no more.

I believe relationships, from cradle to grave, are central and vital experiences that shape the person we become and influence the person we are. Relationships are not only driving forces in our life but also build the basis of our psychical and biological life.

Working in a relational way means being open to the other and be willing to explore feelings and thoughts in relation to the other person. Relational psychotherapy will explore how early relationships shaped and built who we are and how we ourselves tend to replay all those difficult experiences we might wish to change.

Qualifications & Training

  • MSc Integrative Psychotherapy, MPhil.
  • UKCP registered.

    Experience
I work with people who suffer from depression, eating disorders, anxiety related issues and those who just can't work out why they feel so unhappy, confused or helpless. I help people with obsessive and compulsive issues and work with people who face a suicidal crisis.

Further I work with people who survived terrifying and brutal experiences, faced abuse and/or mental health problems and struggle to continue to live their lives. I undertake both short term focussed projects as well as longer term work.

Over the past 6 years I have gained experience in the NHS working at the Maudsley Hospital and Victim Support Lambeth where I saw people in weekly one-to-one psychotherapy sessions.

In my practice I am very interested in the social and political as well as the personal reality. I believe in challenging negativity and discrimination around race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religious beliefs and socio-economic background. As a German speaker living in London I bring my own personal experience and an acute awareness of how social exclusion operates on both personal and social realities.
