I am an experienced humanistic counsellor. I work on the basis that there are no "right" and "wrong" reasons for trying counselling - if something matters to you, then you are welcome to come and talk to me about what counselling can offer you. I am approachable and professional with experience of working with people from many walks of life.
Whatever you would like to talk about, you can expect me to listen carefully and respectfully to you. As I listen I will be focusing on understanding you and the way you see and experience things. I aim to provide a safe and supportive atmosphere in which you can feel free to just be yourself and to share your deepest concerns.Qualifications & Training
I have an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling (2007). I am a member of the BACP and work according to their ethical framework for good practice.
My approach to counselling is based on three humanistic models:
Person Centered Therapy
Gestalt Therapy
Transactional Analysis
My style of counselling is also influenced by training in attachment theory, which looks at how our earliest relationships shape the patterns we adopt in our adult lives and how these patterns can be modified where they have become unhelpful to us.Experience
I have over 5 years experience and have previously worked for the North Surrey Community Counselling Partnership as a volunteer counsellor. I currently divide my work between private practice and counselling a voluntary sector counselling service.Fees
