My hypno-psychotherapy sessions are aimed at freeing people to enjoy a new, healthier, happier life. This can mean finding new ways of dealing with all the worries and constraints that have got in their way and prevented that person from being the best they can be.

We all worry about different things. Some are small and insignificant to others, but enormous to the worrier. This distortion makes the problem hard to endure. Everyday life can become intolerable because of anxiety and panic attacks, with emotions and behaviours that are beyond the individual's control.

Feelings get confused with facts, and low self esteem and a sense of shame develops as though the person had done something wrong, something to feel guilty about.

Have you ever wondered why it can be so difficult to stop doing things you really don't want to do any more? However illogical, it can seem impossible to discard unwanted thoughts and habits.

Hypno-psychotherapy can help you understand why this happens. Ignoring behaviours which have become habits doesn't make them go away because each time the habit is repeated, it is reinforced.

Making the problem 'right-size', bringing it into the present day, dilutes its impact. This can bring enormous relief, releasing the person from their emotional prison. It enables people to make quite spectacular changes to their lives easily and naturally.

Hypno-psychotherapy puts people back in the driving seat, fully in control.

I advise clients to live with a minimum of 'shoulds' and 'oughts', worrying less about what others think, trusting their own intelligence instead.

I trained with the National College of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and qualified in1997 and am on their National Register (NRHP).

The NRHP is an accredited member of UKCP and Rules of Membership ensure registered therapists maintain the highest professional standards as set out in the NRHP's code of ethics and practice. This includes undertaking a minimum of 20 hours supervision per year and 150 hours over a five-year cycle of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

I am the co-author with Uri Geller of Mind Medicine, published in October 1999 and re-published October 2001, and have also written a great many articles across a range of subjects including psychology, health, environmental issues and lifestyle for the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph, the Times, the Daily Mail and Daily Express as well as magazines such as BBC Wildlife Magazine. I am an Accredited NHS Editor and Writer through the Centre for Health Information (CHiQ).
