I am a qualified counsellor offering adult, individual short (6-12 sessions) and open ended counselling. I am a Senior member of the BACP and abide by their code of ethics.
I believe counselling should be able to offer you a safe and non judgemental space to talk through your problems with your counsellor at a time in your life when you may be feeling vulnerable. This will allow for past and present issues and experiences to be explored, patterns identified and facilitating understanding and insight and changes can then follow.
I work with a diversity of issues including depression, anxiety, relationship & family difficulties, bereavement, trauma, abuse, work problems and stress. Sometimes people need to come to counselling when they feel they have lost direction or purpose. I can't cover every possibility because every person has their individual problems.Qualifications & Training I did a 3 year Psychodynamic Diploma followed by post graduate diplomas in human development, trauma and time-limited counselling. I have continued with continual professional development, attending workshops, lectures & conferences on a variety of mental health issues. Experience I have worked with children and adults over the past 15 years. I have worked in Primary Care for 15 years and worked in schools and helplines with children. I have trained in psychiatric wards, undertaken infant observation training and been an active member in local psychotherapy and counselling committees.Fees My fee is £50 a session (50 minutes) but I also offer some low cost places.
