Issues worked with include: depression, anxiety, abuse, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, life changes and difficulties arising from childhood experiences.
Psychotherapy offers the opportunity, within a supportive relationship, to explore a crisis or difficulties, which may result in changes in the way you feel, think and behave. My practice is based on the belief that everyone has the capacity to develop their own potential and work towards living in a more satisfying way.
The first appointment is an assessment session, to see whether therapy with me will be appropriate to your needs and is therefore without obligation on either side.
Therapy may end after a few sessions or it may continue over a longer period. If we decide to proceed we normally agree to meet for up to six sessions, with a joint review on the fifth session where further sessions may be agreed upon. You are always in charge of the process and can stop at any stage.
The therapeutic relationship is an active working partnership and regular commitment to your therapy is needed. Sessions are 50 minutes long and are usually weekly at a regular time.
