It can be so painful and hard to live in a world where we have to suppress the innermost parts of ourselves in order to live in our everyday existence. Due to my own personal journey and certain life experiences I decided to train in counselling with the aim of providing an empathic, confidential therapeutic space, where you are free to explore your innermost thoughts, feelings, beliefs and values.
I understand the need we sometimes have where we just want to be able to talk and be heard. Sometimes we can turn to family members or close friends for advice and support yet at other times we simply need the support of an unattached other where we can just be ourselves and say what we want without fear of judgement or reprisals.
Counselling can help us make sense of our world. While we may struggle at times from the experiences of past relationships, counselling can't undo these experiences, but, it can help us to move on and lead more fulfilling lives. For those of us who are affected by present situations counselling can help us with taking control and putting things into perspective.
The journey through counselling isn't always easy. There are times that it can be painful but, there also times we can become enlightened in the realisation of new things about ourselves. It is therefore, my aim to work with you in building a safe and secure environment where you are free to explore the issues which are troubling you most.
I believe you are a unique individual who deserves to be treated as such with respect and, as your issues and traumas are unique to your own experience I do not judge or generalise. Being empathic, I will work with you at your own pace allowing time and space for thoughts, feelings, reflections and emotions to surface and be worked through. I believe the sessions should be lead by you and used in such a way that you feel is most helpful for you where you are free to explore you're personal values, beliefs and behaviours within our therapeutic relationship. It is for these reasons I offer both short and long term 50 minutes face to face therapy sessions where you are free to have as many sessions as you feel you need or want.
Being a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I implement their ethical framework within my practice. I employ a stature of fairness and equality in both private practice and as a volunteer counsellor. I welcome, and have experience in working with clients from various cultural backgrounds. I welcome clients of both genders from the age of 16 years upwards regardless of race.Qualifications & Training Integrative Counselling

I have worked with a wide variety of issues and do not specialize in any one particular area as I believe counselling can be helpful for all our traumas, problems and concerns. If however I felt I couldn't work within a certain area I would discuss this with you. Although, as yet this has never occured.Fees Intitial consultation £35 (60 minutes)
If you are considering having counselling, come along for an inititial interveiw to see for yourself whether counselling could work for you.
Counselling sessions £40 (50 minutes)
If you decide to carry on with counselling after the first interveiw, we can work together to explore how many sessions you feel you would like to have. However the amount of sessions are never limited and can be extended beyond the agreed time-frame. Also there is no obligation to work through till the end of any agreed time-frame as you are free to end when you feel the time is right. All I ask is that you give the required amount of notice as set in the contract.
Consessions are open to discussion.
Due to demand for consessional spaces, these spaces are time-limited.
Fees are payable at the beginning of each session.
A written contractural agreement is put in place in the first session and signed by both myself and client. Both client and counsellor will have a copy of the contract. This ensures ethical boundaries are put in place at the onset of therapy and the client has a clear awareness of time, fees and confidentiality issues.
