GPTI  -  Gestalt Psychotherapy & Training Institute

The first step is for us to meet for a free initial 30 minute session where we talk more about what you want and negotiate practicalities. I currently work from Edinburgh Gestalt Institute in Edinburgh’s West End.

Couple, family, group, team and organisation rates are determined as part of the initial discussions.

I am available for supervision, training and consultation on therapeutic issues as well as wider issues related to change and personal/professional development.

I have a diploma in Gestalt therapy and am a member of Gestalt Psychotherapy and Training Institute (GPTI) whose code of ethics I work within.

I am actively involved in ongoing training and accreditation through personal therapy, supervision and links to registered bodies.

I am keen to explore the benefit of a Gestalt approach within business, the arts, theatre, media, schools, and public services - whatever your interest is.

I would welcome a discussion with you if you are unsure of whether therapy or a Gestalt approach is suitable for you or your organisation, please just contact me if you have any questions.

I am also happy to discuss alternative forms of communication to meet your needs e.g. therapy using telephone, Skype, email contact please contact to discuss.

Qualifications & Training
I have a Diploma in Gestalt Therapy (Awarded by Edinburgh Gestalt Institute in 2009 - this involved 4 years training in Gestalt Psychotherapy).
I also have a Honours Degree in Biological Sciences - BSc Biological Sciences (Hons) gained at Napier University in 1985 and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Applied Social Studies gained at Aberdeen University in 1988.

Experience
I initially studied Biology and Psychology which led to my interest in working with people and the field of neuroscience. I then studied further and gained a qualification that enabled me to work in the Social Work & Education field for 20 years. Over those years I gained insight and experience of working with people in crisis and those who have experienced trauma.

During this time I also lectured in Psychology & Intervention work at Telford College, Edinburgh. When I decided to move into therapeutic work I was a Manager in Children and Families services for the City of Edinburgh Council.

During my training I worked as a therapist at Edinburgh University's Student Counselling Service and am now employed part-time for well known Children's Charity. My current work is with those who have experienced sexual abuse and trauma.

Fees
Individual sessions last one hour and cost £45.
