I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Integrative means that I combine aspects of several models of therapy depending on the needs of each unique client. Evidence suggests that all models are effective, but the vital part is the quality of the relationship you share with your counsellor.
I went to International schools in many different, and often politically sensitive, countries before going to boarding school. I enjoy being and working with people of all nationalities and backgrounds.
After a degree in French, I became a Montessori teacher and then Primary school teacher. My strength lay in working with the more vulnerable pupils. This led me to pursue counselling.
I am holistic in my upbringing, outlook and the way I work. I am interested in all aspects of our lives, emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual. This involves how they impact on each other and those around us.
I see individual clients, providing a confidential and safe environment in which to build a relationship of trust and openness. This might be short or long-term, depending on individual needs. I work with my clients at the pace they want.
I am also involved with Cruse a national bereavement charity and youth counselling, working with 16-25 year olds. If you are a parent who is concerned about your 16+ year old that you think may benefit from counselling, I happy to discuss the way I work with you.
As part of my Continued Professional Development (CPD), I attend courses and meet regularly with other counsellors. I can help you to find a different therapist if you felt that was more appropriate. I also may feel that another therapist would be more helpful to you, and would discuss that with you.
I also have experience of online counselling. Qualifications & Training 10 O Levels.
