Spokz People is a not-for-profit organisation. We offer a range of services for adults with physical disabilities, their partners and health care professionals. Spokz People was set up after we discovered that many people with disabilities would benefit from services specialising in disability. Our understanding of disability enables us to provide tailor-made services. We acknowledge that disability can impact on many areas of life and can affect how you participate in society.

Our Services:
• Counselling provides a safe place where you can talk in confidence with your counsellor. You may want to reflect on your life and improve its direction. You may have negative thoughts you want to change. You may feel confused, sad, angry or upset about certain aspects of your life. Counselling can provide insight into your difficulties and help you achieve the changes you desire.
Counsellors can work with issues such as anxiety, depression, loss, adjustment, anger, relationships, family matters, self-esteem and disability related issues (acquired and congenital).
Spokz People offer flexibility in terms of location, frequency and duration of sessions. We also offer online and telephone counselling to those unable to attend face-to-face sessions.
• Wellbeing Workshops - We offer a 12-week confidence course which covers the following topics: living with disability, confidence, assertiveness, body image and relationships. With a maximum of 10 members, sessions are weekly with an hour’s reflective work between sessions. We also have other courses, both for people with disabilities and health care professionals. Please contact us for more information.
• Support Groups give you the opportunity to meet with your peers, share, find support and get information. With a maximum of 10 members, sessions are every 2-4 weeks. Topics for discussion are agreed mutually. Groups are run by a facilitator with disability and group experience. Please contact us to find a group near you.
• Free Online Forum - Our forum gives you the opportunity to find support online. You can post questions and concerns relating to relationships, dating, sexual issues, confidence, etc. and respond to posts from other members.
• Advice Line - You can ring our 0845 number to get advice on relationships, sex and disability. This service is for people with disabilities, their partners and health care professionals.
• Free Online Directory - Find UK-wide disability therapists: counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, coaches and sex therapists.
