I am a qualified and experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapist based in Manchester, working with adults, couples, children and adolescents. I also offer consultations to organisations providing health and social care.

I have 28 years experience of working in the field of mental health within the NHS. I am also a registered Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and a Health Professions Council registered Occupational Therapist. I am also a member of the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD) and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD).

For more than 11 years I have worked closely with the Clinic for Dissociative Studies to develop and to provide consultations, assessments and packages of psychotherapeutic care and treatment for adults, children and adolescents with dissociative disorders, including Dissociative Identity Disorder, associated complex needs and intellectual (learning) disability.

Psychotherapy is a journey of self-discovery and understanding; an opportunity to know oneself better.

I provide a safe and confidential space where which people can come and think together and work towards understanding how they are feeling and what's happening for them. It is a time provided with respect, openness, a readiness to relate and free from discrimination of any kind. For many people it can be a space where their experiences and survival strategies are acknowledged and not pathologised; rather they are thought about and understood. The therapy is approached at a manageable pace and in a non-judgemental manner.

The first appointment is an initial meeting to come and talk about concerns and to think together about what might be most useful. This appointment is usually for one and a half hours duration. If psychotherapy is the agreed choice, 50 minute sessions at a regular time usually on a weekly basis will be offered. Session times can sometimes vary depending on the need of the individual.

Psychotherapy can have a constructive influence on all aspects of a person's life, having a lasting and positively profound resonance.
